Care: Easy

Kentia Palm is one of the most forgiving palms sold, slow growing and tolerant of missed waterings and low light.

Light: Indirect

Thrives in bright indirect light and tolerates low light well. Keep out of direct sun, which scorches the fronds.

Watering: Moderate

Water when the top few centimetres of soil dry out. Roughly every one to two weeks depending on light and season.

Toxicity: Non-toxic

Safe for cats, dogs, and people. This is one of the few genuinely pet friendly large palms.

Position: Floor

Every variant here (Ø19 through Ø27) grows upright with wide arching fronds, so it needs floor space to spread rather than a tabletop footprint. Even the smallest, Ø19 85cm, outgrows a table within a season.

Where it thrives: corners of a living room, either side of a sofa, hallway entrances, or a bright office corner. It handles lower light better than most floor palms, so it also works in north facing rooms and spots a few metres back from a window.
