About the Spathiphyllum Bingo Cupido

Spathiphyllum ‘Bingo Cupido’, the Peace Lily, drifts from tropical rainforests into modern rooms with serene ease. With glossy green leaves and sculptural white spathes, Luma brings tranquillity, polish, and cleaner air to living spaces. Low-maintenance by nature, she thrives in bright, indirect light to half-shade and appreciates evenly moist, well-draining, organic-rich soil.

Water weekly, letting the top centimetres dry slightly, and feed every two months in the growing season. Keep her away from harsh sun, cold drafts, and standing water; an occasional leaf wipe keeps that refined glow. Delivered secure in a 19 cm pot around 80 cm tall, she arrives ready to settle and shine—quiet drama, gentle wellness, effortless style.

Did you know?

Peace lilies aren’t true lilies; their elegant “flowers” are modified leaves. Luma also signals thirst by gently drooping, then springs back after a drink, making her perfect for beginners. Beautiful, purifying, and ornamental only—admire, don’t nibble. Mist lightly in summer and refresh blooms by removing spent spathes.

Why the bedroom?

This plant is perfect for the bedroom because it brings instant calm and tropical charm with minimal effort. Her bold, upright leaves make a striking statement, while subtly improving the air you breathe. Though she’s not safe for curious pets or children, she’s ideal for stylish, adult-friendly spaces. Low-maintenance, air-cleansing, and full of presence—Luma was made for this room.

Position: Tabletop

Place Luma in bright, indirect light or half-shade, a few metres from windows or behind sheer curtains. Give her space to fan upright leaves and avoid radiators, drafts, and blasting AC. A living-room console or bedside table suits her well. Keep soil evenly moist and rotate monthly for balance. Mildly toxic, so style in adult spaces or out of reach for pets.

Growth Habit: Clumping

Soil: Moisture-Retaining

Choose a moisture-retaining, well-draining mix so Luma’s roots stay hydrated yet airy. Use premium potting soil enriched with coco coir and compost, plus chunky perlite and a handful of fine bark for flow. Avoid peat-heavy blends and waterlogged pots. Let water run through, then reset between drinks; damp, never dense, keeps foliage crisp, blooms frequent, and growth steady indoors all year round.

Propagation: Division

Propagate Spathiphyllum ‘Bingo Cupido’ by DIVISION. In early spring, unpot the clump, rinse soil away, and separate crowns so each division carries several healthy leaves and a robust root section. Pot into fresh, organic-rich, well-draining mix, firm lightly, and water to settle. Keep bright-indirect, evenly moist, and draft-free for two weeks. Do not use stem or leaf cuttings; they fail indoors, generally.

Bright, Indirect

Moderate

Luma prefers moderate watering: keep soil evenly moist, never soggy. Water when the top 2–3 cm dries, then drain thoroughly. Weekly in growth, less in winter. Use room-temperature water and empty saucers promptly.

Novice

Luma is easy—half-shade to bright, indirect light; evenly moist, well-draining, organic-rich soil; and gentle feeding every two months. Avoid harsh sun, soggy mix, and drafts. Wipe leaves; deadhead spent spathes.

Medium

Luma prefers medium, steady humidity. Keep her away from heaters, blasting AC, and drafts. Group with plants, use a pebble tray, or mist lightly in summer to keep leaves lush and blooms lasting.
