Nursey Pot Diameter: Ø13cm

About the Strelitzia Reginae

Strelitzia reginae brings sunshine on demand. Broad, lance-shaped leaves frame those electric orange-and-blue blooms that look like birds mid-flight—pure theatre for real homes.
Stella loves bright, indirect light with a little gentle sun; give her evenly moist soil, sharp drainage, and a weekly deep drink in growth, easing off when days cool.

She’s the showstopper that behaves: architectural, uplifting, and blissfully low-drama. Park her by a bright window, wipe the leaves, and let the flowers do the talking. We send her out snug in a sturdy, plant-safe box with sleeves and anchors, so she arrives fresh, healthy, and ready to shine.

Did you know?

With patience and strong light, Bird of Paradise can bloom indoors for weeks, each flower unfurling from a blue spathe like a tiny crane. Feed lightly in spring, rotate monthly, and she’ll reward you again—often as days lengthen. Avoid cold drafts and standing water; keep roots breathing and blooms follow with colour, confidence, and unmistakable poise indoors.

Why the living room?

This plant is perfect for the living room, because she brings instant drama and tropical allure with minimal effort. Low-maintenance, air-cleansing, and full of presence—Stella was made for this room.

Place Stella as a statement Floor plant near a bright window with generous, indirect light and gentle morning sun. Give her headroom for leaves and blooms, and a little space from walls. Keep away from radiators, drafts, and blasting AC. A sunny living room corner with sheer curtains is ideal; rotate monthly for even growth and balanced flowering through the growing season.

Soil: Well-Draining

Stella thrives in a well-draining, nutrient-rich mix that keeps roots airy yet comfortably moist. Choose premium potting soil boosted with chunky perlite and a handful of orchid bark; a touch of coco coir helps steady moisture without heaviness. Avoid dense, peat-heavy blends and standing water. Let water flow through freely, then reset between drinks, keeping growth bold and bloom-ready all year round.

Propagation: Division

Propagate Strelitzia reginae by DIVISION. In early spring, unpot the clump, gently separate rhizomes so each division carries healthy roots and at least one fan of leaves. Pot into fresh, well-draining mix, firm lightly, and water to settle. Keep bright, indirect light, evenly moist soil, and low stress for two weeks. Avoid stem cuttings; they fail. Support large fans with stakes initially.

Bright, Indirect

Stella thrives in bright, indirect light with a splash of gentle sun. A sunny window with sheer curtains is ideal; protect from harsh afternoon rays. More light fuels blooms—rotate monthly for even growth.

Moderate

Give Stella moderate watering: keep soil evenly moist, never soggy. Water deeply when the top 2–3 cm dries, then drain. Weekly; ease off in cooler months. Use room-temperature water and empty saucers promptly.

Green Thumb

Stella’s moderately demanding but absolutely worth it. Give her bright, indirect light, deep yet infrequent watering, and room to spread, and she’ll reward you with sculptural, glossy foliage and blooms. Big impact—low stress!!

Low

Stella prefers low to medium humidity—steady, comfortable air over damp rooms. Keep her away from heaters and blasting AC. Group with plants or use a pebble tray if home runs dry; misting optional.
