About the Aglaonema Silver Bay

Aglaonema ‘Silver Bay’ drifts in from Southeast Asia’s shaded understories, where she glows beneath filtered canopies. With cool silver-green leaves brushed in soft patterns, Sylvie brings calm glamour to interiors and quietly freshens the air.

She thrives in half-shadow to bright, indirect light and forgives missed waterings; let the top layer dry, then give a thorough drink and drain. Keep her away from harsh sun, cold drafts, and soggy mix. Low-maintenance, sculptural, and soothing, she’s an effortless statement for homes and offices. We ship her snug in a sturdy, plant-safe box so she arrives fresh, healthy, and undamaged—ready to settle and shine.

Did you know?

Aglaonemas were classic lobby plants because they tolerate low light and dry offices, yet maintain colour. ‘Silver Bay’ adapts beautifully, often pushing new leaves year-round indoors when light is steady and watering stays moderate. This specimen arrives in a 17 cm pot around 50 cm tall, perfectly proportioned for shelves.

Why the living room?

This plant is perfect for the living room because it brings instant polish and silver charm with minimal effort. Her bold, upright leaves make a strong statement, while subtly improving the air you breathe. Though she’s not safe for curious pets or children, she’s ideal for stylish, adult-friendly spaces. Low-maintenance, air-cleaning, and full of presence—Sylvie was made for this room.

Position: Tabletop

Place Sylvie on a Tabletop or low stand in bright, indirect light or half-shadow. Set her a few metres from windows or behind sheer curtains, with space for upright leaves to fan. Keep away from radiators, drafts, and blasting AC. A living room console or shelf suits her best. Mildly toxic, so style in adult spaces or out of reach for pets.

Growth Habit: Clumping

Plants that grow into a compact thicket or mound.

Soil: Well-Draining

Choose a well-draining, moisture-retaining mix so Sylvie’s roots stay airy yet comfortably hydrated. Use premium potting soil boosted with coco coir for gentle hold, plus chunky perlite and a handful of fine bark to speed flow. Avoid dense, peat-heavy blends and standing water. Let water run through, then reset between drinks to keep foliage crisp, colour bright, and growth steady all year.

Propagation: Division or Stem Cuttings

Propagate Aglaonema ‘Silver Bay’ by DIVISION or STEM CUTTINGS. For division, unpot in spring and separate clumps so each has healthy roots and several stems; replant in fresh, well-draining mix and water to settle. For cuttings, take 10 cm cane sections with nodes, remove leaves on the lower half, and root in water or airy mix in bright, indirect light. Keep warm, humid.
