About Coffea Arabica

Coffea arabica brings glossy, tropical cheer to real homes. Think waxy deep green leaves, ruffled edges, and a calm coffeehouse mood. Cora loves bright, filtered light, warmth, and shelter from cold drafts and midday sun. Keep her soil evenly moist, never soggy, and water once the top feels dry. Use a rich, well draining, slightly acidic blend in a pot with holes. She adores humidity, so mist often or sit her on a pebble tray. We send her snug in a sturdy, plant safe box so she lands fresh, healthy, and ready to settle. Lush, leafy, and quietly uplifting, she suits kitchens, desks, and bright corners. Every part is toxic to pets, so keep her up high.

Did you know?

Given a few years, bright humid days, and steady warmth, a happy arabica can bloom with small white flowers that smell of jasmine, then set red cherries, each one cradling two beans. Keep her a little back from glass to dodge scorch, turn her monthly for even posture, and feed lightly through spring and summer.

Why the kitchen?

This plant is perfect for the kitchen because it is the coffee plant itself, right at home where the day begins. Cora brings glossy charm and a calm coffeehouse mood, and laps up the warmth and steam that cooking sends her way. A bright spot suits her, just shield her from midday glare. Since every part is toxic, perch her high out of reach. Leafy and full of character, Cora was made for the kitchen

Position: Tabletop

At twenty five centimetres Cora is a natural tabletop beauty, lovely on a desk, sideboard, or plant stand in a bright room. Keep her high and out of reach, since every part is toxic to curious pets and children. Give her space.

Growth Habit: Upright

Straight, strong stems that reach toward the ceiling.

Plant Care

Soil: Well-Draining

Cora likes a rich, well draining, slightly acidic mix. Start with good potting compost, then add perlite for airflow and a little coir to hold gentle moisture. Use a pot with holes so spare water drains and her roots never sit wet.

Propagation: Seed

Cora is happiest grown from fresh seed, since the beans lose life fast once dried. Sow ripe, cleaned seed in warm, moist mix and wait patiently. You can try softwood cuttings too, though they root slowly and need warmth and humidity.

Straight from Netherlands

Getting our plants from nurseries in the Netherlands means you're getting top-quality greenery. The Dutch are world-famous for their expertise in growing healthy, vibrant plants—and thanks to their efficient systems, everything arrives fresh and full of life. It's a smart, sustainable choice that your home (and your plants) will thank you for.

Bright, Indirect

Cora thrives in bright, filtered light, ideally an east or west window with gentle morning sun. Shield her from midday rays that scorch waxy leaves. Too dim and she sulks and stretches. Rotate her monthly so she grows evenly.

Moderate

Cora likes her soil evenly moist, never soggy or bone dry. Water once the top few centimetres feel dry, letting the excess drain freely from a holed pot. Ease right off through autumn and winter, and never leave her in a wet saucer.

Green Thumb

Cora sits in green thumb territory, a little effort for lots of charm. She likes routine: steady warmth, even moisture, and humidity. Watch for crispy edges or thirsty droop, adjust, and she rewards you with glossy, willing growth.

High

Cora loves humid air, so aim for fifty percent plus. Mist her often or sit her on a pebble tray, and a humidifier earns its keep in winter. Keep her clear of cold drafts and drying heater or AC vents. Group her with leafy friends.
