About the Epipremnum

Epipremnum aureum ‘Golden Pothos’ brings easy, golden-green flow to real rooms. Think soft, heart-shaped leaves with sun-kissed marbling, trailing from shelves or climbing a pole. Eppie likes bright, indirect light but handles partial shade; skip harsh sun. Let the top layer dry, then drench and drain—lighter sips in winter.

Wipe leaves and rotate monthly for even, lush lines. Compact now in a 12 cm pot at about 20 cm, he settles fast and starts exploring. We send him snug and protected so he lands fresh and ready to style.

We send him snug and protected so he lands fresh and ready to style. Low-maintenance, air-cleansing, and endlessly adaptable—perfect for beginners, renters, and busy weeks.

Did you know?

With support and stronger light, Golden Pothos can shift from juvenile to mature, producing larger, cut-out leaves like an aroid canopy vine. Give Eppie a moss pole and patience, and he’ll hint at that jungle persona indoors. Trail him along shelves, loop vines on hooks, or let him climb; he stays slim, glossy, and gloriously unfussy year-round indoors.

Why the kitchen?

This plant is perfect for the kitchen because it brings instant freshness and tropical charm with minimal effort. His golden, trailing leaves make a striking statement while subtly improving the air you breathe. Though he’s not safe for curious pets or children, he’s ideal for stylish, adult-friendly spaces.

Position: Bookshelf or stand

Place Eppie on a bookshelf or stand in bright, indirect light, a few metres from windows or behind sheer curtains. Give him space to trail or a moss pole to climb, keeping leaves off heaters and drafts. A kitchen corner works beautifully. Rotate monthly for balance. Mildly toxic, so style out of reach of curious pets and small children at home.

Growth Habit: Climbing

Soil: Well-Draining

Choose a well-draining, airy aroid mix so Eppie’s roots stay oxygenated yet comfortably moist. Use premium potting soil boosted with chunky perlite, a handful of orchid bark, and a touch of coco coir for gentle hold. Avoid heavy, peat-laden blends and waterlogged pots. Let water run through freely, then reset between drinks—damp, never dense—to keep variegation vivid and growth steady all year.

Propagation: Stem Cuttings

Propagate Epipremnum aureum by STEM CUTTINGS. Take a 10 cm vine piece just below a node, keeping at least one leaf and one node. Remove lower leaf, place node in water or an airy mix (potting soil + perlite). Keep bright-indirect, warm, and lightly moist; change water weekly. Plant when roots reach 3–5 cm. Leaf-only cuttings fail; air-layer longer vines if needed.

Bright, Indirect

Eppie thrives in bright, indirect light and tolerates partial shade; avoid harsh afternoon sun. More light keeps variegation vivid. Set metres from windows or behind sheer curtains; rotate monthly for balanced growth indoors.

Moderate

Give Eppie moderate watering: let the top 5 cm dry, then water deeply and drain. Weekly in spring and summer; ease off in cooler months. Use room-temperature water, avoid soggy roots, empty saucers.

Novice

Eppie is easy—bright, indirect to partial shade, moderate watering, and well-draining mix. Let the top soil dry, then drench and drain. Rotate, wipe leaves, and provide a pole or trail.

Medium

Eppie prefers medium humidity but tolerates typical homes. Keep him away from heaters and blasting AC. Group with plants or use a pebble tray in dry rooms; misting is optional to keep leaves.
